Multi Business Management - Seyi Oderinde

Seyi Oderinde, the visionary behind Genii-Prints Limited, a distinguished brand, marketing, and advertising agency, is also the founder and co-owner of several other thriving enterprises.

In a candid interview, he shared his invaluable insights on juggling multiple ventures, recounting early hardships, and delineating his evolution from a hands-on entrepreneur to a seasoned multi-preneur with finely tuned business management systems.

Managing multiple businesses, initially, was a feasible task, given the modest scale of projects and client base. However, as Oderinde’s business empire expanded, the enormity of handling everything single-handedly became apparent. This prompted him to pioneer sophisticated systems for seamless business administration.

During the nascent stages of his entrepreneurial journey, Seyi Oderinde navigated a landscape with few clients and projects, affording him the luxury of time to ideate and immerse himself in the realms of entrepreneurship through avid reading, YouTube tutorials, webinars, and networking events. It’s worth noting that his academic background in electrical electronics and computer science did not immediately align with his current expertise in branding, marketing, and advertising.

Post-graduation, Oderinde initially ventured into a role pertinent to his academic discipline, only to later pivot towards his passion for marketing and the various other businesses he had established. His eight-year tenure at PHCN not only provided him with invaluable experience but also honed his team management and collaborative skills.

In the initial phases, financial gains were modest, prompting Seyi Oderinde to take on numerous pro bono projects in order to prove his mettle and amass crucial experience in multi-business management. He underscores the pivotal role of interpersonal skills and harkens back to formative experiences, which include managing a school cyber cafe and contributing to a corporate organization, as instrumental to his entrepreneurial voyage.

Notably, Oderinde’s transition into entrepreneurship was a solo endeavor, with him taking unilateral decisions and overseeing every facet of his inaugural business. This solitary voyage, he contends, was instrumental in forging his entrepreneurial character and fortifying his resolve to persevere in the face of challenges.
